folklore: My Top 5 Songs

Gambar
Hola! LOL it's happening again. I am updating my blog after a year haha. TBH not many major milestones since my last post other than my one month internship out of country and finishing my rotation for my MT program at work. And the 'rona made me stay for 24-hours >>>2 weeks non-stop with my husband haha he was surprised to know it as well and yet we survive each other. Anyway, some of my closest circle must know that I am a big Swiftie ever since her Fearless era (2008!). SOOOO imagine how ecstatic I am when the news of folklore album dropped 16hour prior to the release. Here I wanna list some of my favorite songs from folklore. And please keep in mind that I mostly ranked it based on my own interpretation and reflection of my own life, if not by melody, composition and instrumental music wise.

What's Next?

Howdy! My husband is currently away for 2 weeks and I finally gathered all my will to shoo my laziness and picked his keyboard + mouse underneath the bed to write some words in this blog! I just moved to new division in work and currently in third rotation before my final placement. My new team consists of smaller number (4 including me, for the records), compare to the last division that I joined. Two of them are fresh graduates and we've been sharing our own stories this past month. As I told them that I'm relatively late in terms of graduate year (1.5 years of studying abroad and the rest 0.5 years due to my lazy ass to hurry my thesis research lols) they came to the conclusion that I am a high achiever student and very competitive during my study. Well, spending my time in highly pursued high school and uni, I would probably say that it's 50% right (?) Realizing that I am not as bright as other student since high school, I am always motivated on stuffs that ...

Life Recently (1)

Hi All! Please bear with me on hearing me say this: it's-been-a-while-since-my-last-post lol. My last post was actually about my essay for my NUS class, which dated back to 2016, and I posted it in 2017 (I know right!!!) A lot of things happened during those 2 years, IN FACT, I got married this year with this aweso0oooo000ome guy whom I met during my first job back in Bandung. Check out his blog: http://muzavan.wordpress.com/ haha I don't know why I'm promoting his blog anyway considering my own blog must be like a graveyard with no visitor. Recently I've been trying to explore activities I enjoy outside work and was also wondering why do I keep pulling my self out from social media (other than Twitter, probably). For those of you who don't know: I don't have Instagram There you have it. It must be not a big deal for some but I've been hearing a lot of my friend saying: "ya ampun ini tahun 20XX lo masih aja belom punya Instagram De...

KARTINI: What is with kebaya and cooking competition?

For many Indonesian women who grew up during the regime of Second Indonesian President, Suharto, being a girl on Kartini Day means “ kebaya-an ” (wearing a traditional Javanese blouse dress) or dressing up in traditional costume, while some older women participated in cooking, flower arrangement, and make up competition. This celebration was meant to commemorate Kartini’s effort on women empowerment during Dutch colonial day. From the Old Order regime (Sukarno era) up until now, Kartini is hailed as a national symbol and pioneer of women emancipation in Indonesia. Being born 137 years ago on April 21 1879, Kartini was part of a Javanese aristocrat and the 5 th daughter of 11 of Raden Mas Adipati Ario Sosroningrat, while her mother was her father’s secondary wife. Her father was the Regent of Jepara and one of 80 such native regents who held office through the Dutch colonial system, thus her family was considered to have a high social status among the natives. She got a chance to ...

Hai! Akhirnya saya memutuskan nge-blog lagi nih. Terlepas dari ada tugas kelas tentunya. Well, hari ini ulang tahun saya.

Natural Gas versus The Dirty Temptation

All over the world, natural energy sources have been a highlight issue, since we all aware about the fact that most kinds of energy that human using is not renewable. Are we actually running out? As oil supply tightens, we will seek for coal and natural gas, until that distant day when renewable sources can catch up. However, these two fossil fuels already dominate the world’s electricity generation, with about 40% coming from coal and 20% from natural gas (in contrast, only 7% of all electricity is generated using   oil). Both have their disadvantages and benefits relative to oil and to each other. Demand for natural gas is projected to more than double between now and 2050. It is widely used for heating, cooking, and industrial purposes. It comprises about a quarter of all energy consumption in the United States. Of the big three fossil hydrocarbons, natural gas is by far the cleanest, with roughly one-tenth to one-thousandth the amount of sulfur dioxides, nitrous oxides, ...

We Do Not Need Electric Cars Except for Public Transport: The Summary and Commentary

We have been witnessing euphoria about electric car production in our public discourse with the government aiming to mass produce 10,000 such vehicles in 2014 in order to address mounting pressures on fuel subsidies. Also, with growing public awareness of global warming and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions, the role of electric cars in our transportation system looks unavoidable. There are number of social benefits of electric cars when compared to petroleum-fueled cars. First, economic growth will increase because the use of electrical energy derived from domestic power generation. Second, the reduction of air pollution will improve public health quality. Third, there is a reduction in noise levels. Fourth, the optimizing from the electricity infrastructure; and, fifth, the potential reducing renewable electricity integration costs.  However, there are also a number of potential costs arising from the use of this technology. First, the increasing of traffic congestio...
